Joints are the weakest part of the floor – especially Saw Cut Joints in heavily trafficked warehouses. The preferred Joint Sealant solution for CoGri Korea is to install a high quality, Semi-Permanent Joint Sealant as late as possible after construction of the floor and prior to use of the floor. Typical materials have a Shore ¡®A¡¯ Hardness of 45 and a Movement Accommodation Factor of around 20%. This gives the arrisses better protection during the initial life of floor.
The majority of the Drying Shrinkage will take place within 12 months of floor construction and the joint can be expected to open from 3 mm to 4 or 5 mm – although this is unpredictable. Therefore it is strongly recommended that the Joint Sealant is repaired after 12-18 months with a Joint Sealant having Shore ¡®A¡¯ Hardness of 60 to 80. Thereafter regular inspections should continue and periodic replacement may be required if traffic is heavy. |
